There are the obvious overrated things like, everything other than cheesecake at The Cheesecake Factory and reality television (sorry, I don’t mean to start a war). Then there are the things in life that we generally don’t make a big deal about but they bring us mini burst of pure bliss. These underrated moments deserve more credit so I’ve thought about it (and scoured the web) and comprised a good list. Here you go:
- Having the song on the radio finish at the exact moment you pull into your driveway and turn off the car.
- Fresh sheets on your bed.
- Being finished with something you really dreaded doing. It’s a huge weight off of your mind and a sense of accomplishment rolled into one.
- When something stuck between your teeth finally gets out.
- Opening up your windows after a long, cold winter. When the breeze brings the smell of flowers and fresh mowed grass into your bedroom.
- Hearing that gentle crumbly sound your vacuum makes when it picks something up. (and those vacuum lines)
- Waking up feeling rested. It happens so rarely that when it does, you feel like you can take anything on that day.
- Going to bed after taking a shower.
- Wrapping up in a fresh from the dryer blanket.
- When you’re congested and finally get that sweet relief of being able to breathe through your nose again.
- The brief moment of silence when you’re driving in heavy rain and go under a bridge.
- Making the perfect grilled cheese.
- When you’re trying to sneeze and it finally happens.
- Getting a new toothbrush.
- Opening a new book for the first time.
- Finishing a new book.
- When you hold off buying that too expensive thing and it shows up on the sale rack a week later.
- When you hit a long string of green lights.
- Finding a new song that you really love.
- Drinking something cold on a hot day.
- Drinking something hot on a cold day.
- Listening to the rain.
- When you take a good picture.
- Getting a stain or mark out of something you thought was a lost cause.
- Hearing your name called for an achievement.
- A good cry.
- When room service arrives.
- When a verified person likes your tweet. (shout out to OPI)
- When you wake up in the morning to a brand new day.
- Putting in a new pair of contact lenses.
- Getting home after a long day and taking off your bra.
- Cancelled plans when you didn’t want to go in the first place.
- When you finally have a breakthrough in something you’ve been trying to learn.
- Waking up in the middle of the night to find you still have four more hours of sleep. (a distant memory but still)
- Using your own toilet after being away for a while.
- Finding a pair of jeans that fit PERFECTLY.
- Not burning your popcorn.
- The moment you find the perfect parking spot.
- The moment you find a gift card you got for your birthday two or three years ago that you forgot about.
- The moment you wake up before your alarm and realize you never set one.
- When you order something online and it arrives right away.
- When your phone battery doesn’t run out.
- The pride after flossing.
- Running the perfect bath.
- Being underrated. Yes, it’d be fun for people to hype up and support you all the time, but as an underdog you’re given the opportunity to prove doubters and naysayers wrong. (thanks Christopher Hudspeth for this one!)
It’s the little things in life!
What else would you add to the list?

Sissy this is such a great list and ALL are so true! I love#6 vacuum lines are the best especially when they are straight and the pattern is crisp. Also #32 & #36, lol the one that literally just brought me so much joy last night was finding a Best Buy gift card and some cash in cards from Christmas. Another underrated thing is getting a phone call/text from someone you were just thinking about. Whether it be from my significant other, family member or one of my good friends it always gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling.
