All my fellow nurses know that multitasking is one of our super powers, on and off the job. All the mommies out there know the same. I am a nurse and a mom, so multitasking seems like it should be a mastered second nature skill set for me. Today though, I had a glitch.
So, it’s the Friday before the New Year. I’m at work frantic with completing charts, seeing and calling patients, and thinking about the final touches on my blog. I realize it’s 3 o’clock. I have yet to pump (yes I’m still breastfeeding), eat lunch, and for goodness sake, I have been holding my bladder forever (another nurse super power).
At last, I finally pry myself away from my computer to steal a bathroom break. I hurry down the hall, unlock the door, and into the stall I go.
I look down and what do I see? Mismatch shoes! A navy blue pump and a black pump. (Insert eye covered monkey emoji) I laugh at myself, totally amused. This is multitasking gone wrong!
But wait, how long have I been walking around like this?! How have I not noticed this?! Has anybody else noticed?! No, they would have said something right? I scurry back to my desk, hoping not to be seen by anyone in the halls. I made it back (unseen), and put on the correct shoes.
Oh the shenanigans! Anyway, here is an interesting article from Business Insider about multi tasking!
If you ever see me out and about, please check my feet and make sure I am on track.
When was the last time you’ve had a “glitch” while trying to multitask?
