Beyoncé wearing a $22K Gucci Kimono court side last February was the first and only time I had genuine hearts in my eyes for the refined robe. After that I thought no more of them, until now.
I was doing a little online shopping this past weekend and lo and behold, more Kimonos! And then I found these photos of Doina Ciobanu and Amalie Gassmann wearing Kimonos at Paris Fashion week last month! Two things: 1) clearly kimonos are still relevant; 2) jeans and a simple top tend to be its complement.
What is my apprehension about them? I can’t quite put my finger on it. I found this one from Alice and Olivia.The print is very pretty, yet I still hesitate.
I think the closest I will get to the style is a kimono inspired top. This tie waist kimono top (also from A&O) is gorg! This top, I could definitely do!
Though I’m all for elevated comfort styles, I’m personally still on the fence with kimonos in womenswear. Beyoncé stole the entire show with this one. Her look was perfection, and that beautiful, fur trimmed, floor length frock totally escapes my budget **insert side eye emoji**. So I think for me (for now) that was the Kimono finale.
