Again, how is it that I have never thought to decorate my Christmas tree blue?! It’s the most beautiful color on the spectrum, and Christmas is my favorite time of the year so fusing the two seems like it would have been apparent genius. But it is only now, Christmas 2021, that I realize this. Because the year appears to be fast passing out of here, I started decking my halls the week of Thanksgiving. And because my tree has been decorated since before the big ten championship game, I kind of want to believe my choice of blue was somewhat prophetic–alley-oop, go blue.
This post is me sharing what I created with beautiful sapphire ornaments and magnolia flower picks. This year I purposefully opted out of ribbon swiveled through the branches. I love when trees are heavily garnished to see the branches barely. Though I don’t think I accomplished that level of embellishment, I’m proud of this blue tree. And yes, I’ve already purchased blue and gold wrapping paper to match because those are the kinds of details I live for. If you are looking for ideas on how to have a blue Christmas, here you go.
Add these lovely gold chargers, blue napkins, and rings from Crate and Barrel to your table setting, and voila! My glassware was gifted to me, but also Crate and Barrel. The blue plates are from Macy’s.
Merry Christmas!
