The looming cold grayness has faded almost to distant memory, though you haven’t even hung your puffer coat back up in the closet from when you had it on last week. The sun is back again, hanging around well after 5 pm. Looking through the window, a little deception toys with your emotions–it looks glorious, but the air still has a hint of winter on its breath. Even so, it’s officially spring!
And I wish you the loveliest of weeks!
The perfect spring dress.
The perfect spring song.
Also, totally feeling the jumbo knotless box braid look, so perfect spring hair.
Earlier this month, I finished reading Cicely Tyson’s book, “Just as I am,” and if you haven’t already indulged, it’s the perfect spring read.
“When it comes to staying right-side up in this world, a Black woman needs at least three things. The first is a quiet spot of her own, a place away from the nonsense. The second is a stash of money, like the cash my mother kept hidden in the slit of her mattress. The last is several drops of cayenne pepper, always at the ready.”
