It’s 8:32 a.m, and I’ve just finished eating breakfast and re-packing my carry-on. This weekend was another last-minute trip to Georgia for Ash and me to visit his great granny, but this time with my dad and sister in tow. All of which was a massive surprise to my mom, who was already in Georgia helping my aunt get my ninety-one-year-old grandma situated back home to her new normal. Ash was able to see his great aunts and uncles again and meet a couple of his once-removed cousins for the first time. (All of whom have been vaccinated, by the way, because safety first.) My grandma’s face as her grandchildren and family trickled through the door at varying times to surprise her and hug her was beautiful. Breaking the monotony of the everyday grind to eat soul food and talk and laugh uncontrollably with family that you don’t get to see often was lovely. And so, I wish you a lovely week as well.
I was able to see my cousin Shaneika while there. She just wrote a book! I’ve already ordered it from Amazon and can’t wait to read it.
I’ve finally found a face moisturizer with SPF that I like. It was much needed because that down-south sun hits different.
And happy 39th Birthday, Brian!
P.S. This post was (obviously) supposed to be published yesterday. But I never hit the publish button, so, ‘Have a Lovely Week’ on a Tuesday! xo
