My weekend was amusing.
I went to a baby shower of someone I went to high school with. Naturally I saw more folks from high school there, specifically choir. I saw our high school varsity choir instructor, basically the most influential teacher of all time. She looked the exact same. It was nice to see everyone.
I also went to my niece’s (who is not so little anymore**tears**) dance recital and was completely impressed with her gracefulness and talent. I screamed her name as loud as I could as she exited the stage. So proud.
I used the word ‘ruminating’ in a sentence while sitting on the couch casually talking to Brian. After I said it I tried to figure out where I had seen it before, how I knew what it meant, and why my brain randomly recalled it at that moment ***black girl shrugging emoji***.
I read about billionaire Robert F. Smith paying off the student loan debt for the 2019 graduating class of Morehouse College. Hashtag money moves.
I nerve wreckingly published a post on my thoughts about abortion and then proudly recorded my son banging on the keyboard while he sang, “I’m still standing” in the sweetest glaring voice, imitating the mob trained, turned singing sensation gorilla, Johnie from the movie SING.
Speaking of kids movies, I used the term “keep moving forward” from Meet the Robinsons, so many times this weekend that I have officially made it my goal for the week.
How was your weekend? What are some of your plans/goals this week?
Have a good one! Xo
P.S. Here are some fun pics of me and Ash!
