Corduroy overload... | Amyre Reflection

While we are talking about transitioning into fall, one word… corduroy. For some reason I have been obsessed with corduroy for years! Many moons ago when I had aspirations of designing my own clothing line (it was going to be called BSIB,) I had designed out my first fall/winter collection to be laden in fine wale corduroy and velvet. My goal was to make corduroy dreamy and give it its’ rightful place in fashion!

That collection never made it off the pages of my sketch book but my love for this fabric never died. So every fall, I’m on the hunt for it. Back in February this year I came across some red corduroy, wide legged, high waisted pants from Express on sale and I was doing my happy dance. Brian even agreed they were a keeper. About a month ago, the matching corded blazer popped up in the online sale section. Clearly God is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him! My outfit was complete! So this post is dedicated to lots of great corduroy finds that you may not have paid attention to. It’s just me trying to do my part, making sure everyone has a piece of corduroy in their closets. Thank me later!

P.S I wish I had paired my suit with a different top. Something more interesting besides black. Something like the color of my nails, a muted lime green. Hindsight is 20/20.

I have not stepped foot into a New York and Company store in years! I have been wanting to try something from Gabrielle Unions collection but every time I have seen something online that I like, it is usually no longer available in my size. Anyway, NY&C just grabbed my attention because look at this cute belted corduroy pencil skirt…
