Yesterday I paid a much-needed visit to Cheryl. It was just us in the shop, chit-chatting through masks and plexiglass about life, the toll of COVID on small businesses, faith, Trump (and his incomprehensible supporters), and how our families were doing. Those who have been following me know that Cheryl has been doing my nails for well over ten years. If I can’t sit in her chair, my nails will just not get done because no one compares to her perfection.
‘You have a new collection?!’ I always love to browse the new OPI collection when I walk over to her wall of polish. ‘Yes, but I wasn’t able to get all of the colors in gel this time,’ she warned—COVID. Luckily this color was one of the ones she was able to secure. It’s from The OPI Fall Collection: Muse of Milan and it’s called Complimentary Wine.
She teased me about the remaining blue polish hanging on the tips of my toenails. It had been a while since my last Pedi. She applied three coats of the velvety burgundy to deepen the color, and now I’m all set with fall on my fingertips.
Cheryl, you always make me feel (and look) better! Thank you! You’re the best! XO.
What color are you wearing right now?
