Current Obsession

So it’s been quite a while since I last wrote an “obsession” post. My last swoon was over Wolford hosiery. You can read about that here. (As an update, I have purchased four pair already *teeheehee*)

My new obsession is the work of Nicholle Kobi.

Actually it isn’t quite a new obsession. I somehow came across Nicholle Kobi’s Instagram earlier this year and I’ve been an admiring fan since. Remember my “Some Underrated Things” post back in March, and my “On Loving People you don’t Like“ post in May**eye winkie emoji**?

Per usual (with all things on this level of fabulous) I was slightly annoyed that I had not known about her even sooner! She is a black French illustrator with a magical aesthetic and I totally love her brilliance.

Nicholle Kobi draws me. Not literally me, of course, but her illustrations are of black women in their element. And they are beautiful!

Scrolling her Instagram makes me want to keep scrolling her Instagram to see every single lovely pic. Her art just makes me happy, and proud.

So because Nicholle became my new BFF (in my head), I wanted to show her my love and loyalty. Some months ago I purchased a couple of her tees. This one is my fav.

She took the time to personally write to me in one of her beautifully designed cards, “Thank you for your love and support. Merci beaucoup.”

She has more than tees and sweatshirts though. She has framed art prints, stationary (greeting cards, calendars, journals and notebooks), home decor (pillows, coffee mugs, and candles), and other accessories (make up bags, phone cases, and tote bags).
