Shaie, God purposefully placed you in my path after losing Ethan. In our church’s nursery, we found reassurance in each other—sharing very similar experiences of our firstborn sons. From that time to now, so much has happened! You guys packed up and left us to start a life in the UK. I was so devastated—it’s hard to find reliable besties these days! But now, I’ve come to appreciate that having friends in beautiful places is so good.
I cannot say thank you enough for everything you’ve done this past week. My birthday would not have been what it was without you all. Watching you guys as a family is just extraordinary. Shaie, I think you are a superwoman! You have inspired me so much; your mothering is top tier. Tim, now I would never travel abroad unless you were there, managing all the logistics. You are gifted in this ability—because how did you learn all of London and Paris like the back of your hand?! Your family is so beautiful—watching you two with the girls traveling through these beautiful cities—impressive. I had the perfect trip because of you both (and the girls).
When we are all together, it feels like home—friends turned family. I’m so glad our children love each other the way they do. And I love you both so very much. Thank you for being patient with me (and my family), hanging with us past bedtimes, and showing me all the fabulousness of London and Paris. Thank you for surprising me with that delicious cake! I’m never expecting things like this, so it overwhelms me. And I never take anyone’s kindness and time lightly—so from the very bottom of my heart, thank you.
Love you always,
Amyre
