The season change is nigh and so instead of dreading the end of flip flop weather, I’m taking the optimistic road and thinking about all the things I love about what happens next. I’m a summer baby but fall’s splendor makes me (almost) equally happy!
Can you believe we are now down to the final four months stretch of the year?! I agree with Mr. Kors, the older I get the more I realize that the ultimate luxury is time. Anyway, I’m anticipating it to be a fabulous bow out of 2018. And here are some of my favorite things to do this time of year!
1.taking walks in a scenic park
It’s self-explanatory why I love this! The changing colors are gorg. The air is clear, cool, and totally refreshing. Last weekend the weather was all the way fall and I had a ball at the park!
2. eating caramel apples (with nuts)
Again, I think this is self-explanatory **insert laughing face emoji**. I feel happy when I walk into the grocery store at the beginning of September and see caramel apples. I immediately grab at least 2 (with nuts)! They are so yummy, and a very pleasant reminder of the impending season change!
3. going to college football games (or just watching them on t.v.)
Time for football! Though we aren’t watching the NFL games, we still make sure to catch the NCAA games, especially the rivalry games. Michigan vs Michigan State is basically the most important game of the season. Usually Brian and I make our way to the Big House in Ann Arbor at least once or twice during the season. It’s always a great time!
4. thinking of a dope Halloween costume
I usually fail with this one. I always think of great costumes at the very last minute and so I can never quite execute them how I like. This year I’m starting earlier! That’s the goal anyway**insert smirk face emoji**.
5. making homemade apple pie
My neighbors have an apple tree in their backyard. Every year it produces an abundance and so they generously pass out bags of apples. A couple of years ago they gave us way more apples than we could eat and so there was only one thing to do, homemade apple pie! Now it’s one of my favorite treats to kick off fall! I’ll be sure to share my recipe with you!
6. wearing my onesie
Seriously, don’t knock it until you buy one. Because the weather is cooler, especially in the evening, there is nothing like coming home and throwing on a onesie. I got mine from the M Den.
7. wearing plaid
I have always loved wearing plaid in the fall! This year it seems like there is a surge of plaid fashion and I am all for that! I’ll be writing about “falling into plaid” and my favorite fall styles soon**eye winkie emoji**!
8. getting ready for Christmas
Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year! I’ve never done the whole “elf on the shelf” and the Christmas lights on my house aren’t elaborate enough to blow any fuses but I still take Christmas pretty darn serious. I’ve been thinking about my Christmas tree theme for months **insert happy face emoji**!
There you have it. Happy soon to be fall! All my love!
What are some of your favorite things to do in the fall?
